If you find yourself in Davao City, a visit to Coffee By The Way is a must for all coffee lovers and anyone in search of a tranquil retreat. Nestled in Purok 2, this charming café is more than just a place to grab your caffeine fix; it’s a cozy sanctuary that transports you back in time with its eclectic 80s and 90s memorabilia adorning the walls.

The ambiance at Coffee By The Way is nothing short of enchanting. As you approach the café, you'll stroll over a quaint bridge that offers a view of the lush surroundings, reminiscent of a serene escape into nature. The experience is enhanced by fragrant notes wafting through the air and the warming glow of inviting seating areas that urge you to sit and stay awhile. This is the ideal setting for intimate conversations, catching up with friends, or simply relishing a moment of solitude with a good book.

Customer experiences paint a vivid picture of what to expect. Dennis Gajo captures it perfectly, noting the nostalgic decor and tranquil atmosphere that allows guests to feel “one with nature.” Imagine kicking back under the shade of bamboo and mahogany trees, with the gentle sounds of nature accompanying your conversations as you sip on a delicious cup of coffee. Jane Winchester shares her family's delightful morning spent here, praising not just the delectable coffee, but also the delicious simplicity of the café fare, adding that it's the perfect pitstop before heading to Siargao.

The café's menu may be limited, leading Jeremy Eliab to suggest they could offer a broader range of options for adventurous palates. However, what they do serve is crafted with care, ensuring that every sip and bite is a delight. Shella Navarro notes the affordability of their offerings, and Bridget encourages a quiet visit solely for the exceptional coffee, making it clear that quality is valued here.

While the café's open-air concept may invite a few insects, this minor inconvenience is overshadowed by the overall experience that Coffee By The Way provides. The café stands as a testament to the simple joys of life—great coffee, warm memories, and the beauty of nature around you. Whether you’re partaking in a leisurely breakfast like Jane did, or just enjoying a coffee break, this café promises a rejuvenating experience that resonates long after you leave.

In summary, if you’re seeking a spot that offers both a sense of nostalgia and a connection to the natural world, look no further than Coffee By The Way in Davao City. Its cozy vibe and inviting atmosphere make it a local gem that’s worth discovering.

Perfect for hanging out with friends or an intimate date. The place is very relaxing and is filled with nostalgic 80s and 90s memorabilia. It’s like walking down memory lane as you walk along that bridge above what used to be a river, sit on those chairs and have a good chat with a friend while enjoying a hot cup of coffee. You are one with nature in this spot and that is one of the many reasons I like visiting here. The coffee is good too and there are a lot of concoctions to choose from. I love the spanish latte and aglio olio

Beautiful and such a serene place. Had breakfast here with my family before heading to Siargao. I love all the spaces they have to sit and eat. Their food was delicious. And you can even take some of their delicious sili (hot peppers ) to eat. 110% recommend them and will be here again

We went there on a Wednesday night, the place is nice but there are a lot of insects due to its open area. Coffee is good and affordable though.

Coffee by the Way offers a cozy and relaxing ambiance, making it a great place to unwind. The natural surroundings, including grapevines on the perimeter, bamboo and mahogany trees, and a small pool, create a refreshing and tranquil environment. However, there are areas where the café could improve. The menu has limited food and coffee options, which might not cater to more adventurous palates. Additionally, parking can be challenging, especially during busy hours. Restroom facilities also need upgrading to match the inviting atmosphere of the place. Service tends to be slow on Sundays due to the large crowd, so patience is required. Despite these drawbacks, Coffee by the Way is a charming spot for a quiet escape, particularly if you’re after a simple, no-frills experience in Davao City.
